Aokigahara is a dense forest blanketing the base of mount Fuji. Moss covered roots weaving over each other as they crawl over the hardened lava of the forest floor. The tall foreboding trees reaching into the sky before they fall, unable to carry the weight of guilt that hangs in the quiet air. Sunlight is challenged on its way through the thick canopy, giving an eerie dimness to the land. Sometimes referred to as Japan’s Suicide Forest where many souls have gone to rest.
