Located in northwestern Romania, the Hoia-Baciu Forest is known as the “Bermuda Triangle” of Romania because strange disappearances are said to have taken place there. For example, a shepherd would have disappeared with a flock of 200 sheep. A five-year-old girl, who had sunk into it, would have reappeared five years later without having aged.
Visitors often come away with “deep anguish and a sense of having been constantly watched,” the forest website warns. Locals tend not to venture there for fear of never finding a way out.
Because it is located in Transylvania, the Hoia-Baciu Forest is overshadowed by Dracula tourism. However the forest boasts its own supernatural phenomenon and whispered legends. It covers 250 hectares and is known as Romania’s Bermuda triangle and the world’s most haunted forest.

A camping spot is located in Harper’s Crossroads area near Bear Creek North Carolina. Local legend states that the barren circle within the grounds is where “the devil tramps at night”. Many visitors will claim that objects left within the circle will disappear overnight, that dog will growl and keep their distance, and strange happenings occur to those brace enough to spend a night nearby.
It is alleged that nothing has grown in the circle for more than a hundred years. This is where “the devil” paces in circles as he schemes to bring his evil into the world.
For 120 years the legend has persisted leading one local journalist to spend the night there. He reported back that his night was largely uneventful. There would be no hazing from the price of darkness on that night.

In West Bengal lies the Kurseong Dow Hill station. Set in the picture-perfect mountain forest this station is known for paranormal activity. It is considered to be the most haunted place in India rife with mystery and ghostly encounters. Woodcutters in the area often report seeing a young headless bow walking down death road and into the woods.
Those who enter the forest will tell you they feel as if they’re being watched and followed by an unseen entity. Some have also reported seeing glowing red eyes in the dark. Like mine after a heinous rip. Others will tell tales of an old woman clad in grey clothes wandering around. She disappears as they try to approach her, never responding to shouts or offers of aid.
